ones. This show is always

in February. If youve never gone and love animals I recommend
it. FMI: www.SEWE.com and for 2008 show dates click on Upcoming

2007 was the Centennial year
for the Masters of the Foxhounds. One of their venues was a traveling
art show that spanned many galleries across the country. Hundreds
of artists participated depicting artwork of horses, hounds and
the sport of foxhunting or draghunting. All five of my paintings
were accepted and sold as soon as they were hung! I couldnt
keep up with the demand! Oh, how I wish I had had more time to
paint.
I was so busy doing commission
work this year I never got too many paintings off to galleries.
I had the pleasure of painting a variety of breeds in different
backgrounds that all had a special meaning to their owners. These
painting are always my favorites because theyre so satisfying
when I hear such wonderful feedback. I meet such interesting
people and continue to make new friends as well. One client told
me she plans on donating her paintings to the AKC museum.
Once again, a few of my paintings
were used as magazine covers this year. The Chronicle of the
Horse and The Field Magazine. Horses In Art magazine had written
an article about me in one of their issues as well.
This year I signed on with
another gallery, Equine Devine, in Aiken, S.C. They will exclusively
handle all of my prints on canvas. They had planned to have a
show for me this winter but I need to break the chain from the
easel in order to have time to get down there!
How does an artist know he/she
has really made it in the art world? Art thieves
steal their work! On a sadder note, one of my paintings was stolen
after a break-in at a clients home in Holland. Afterwards,
she called me requesting all pertinent information regarding
the painting. She hired an agency specifically used to find stolen
artworks. We can all learn from this. Be sure to have a photograph
of your painting (along with any other pertinent information)
in your files in case this unfortunate event ever happens to
you.
Thank-you all for your continued
support, friendship, and business in 2007. Its always appreciated.
Hopefully 2008 will bring you all great health and happiness
and to me, more wonderful animals to enjoy on the easel.
